Valknut 0.4.0a …

Compilato finalmente.. 🙂

Con qualche chicca in più da parte di ejs1920 (grazie!) posso finalmente dire addio all’odiosa PlastikA grafica della 0.3.x..amerete la nuova veste in GTK della 0.4.0 ^^

Ecco i pacchetti debianizzati dal sottoscritto:

dclib_0.3.14a-1~ompolicy_i386.deb (link modificato)
valknut_0.4.0a-1~ompolicy_i386.deb (link modificato)

Nota: Se i pacchetti dovessere causare malfunzionamenti o instabilità del sistema, ne sarebbe consigliata la rimozione tramite il menù Synaptic o da terminale “sudo apt-get remove dclib valknut”

Per lanciare Valknut comodamente dal menù applicazioni è sufficiente creare un link simbolico a “gksu /usr/share/valknut4/bin/valknut“

Per i nerd ubuntari (pare sia un problema diffuso solo su ubuntu) ecco la guida (permettetemi: assai grezza) alla compilazione dei sorgenti:

1. Rinominare il file /usr/bin/uic-qt3 in uic-qt3.old e il file /usr/bin/uic-qt4 in uic-qt3
2. Rinominare il file /usr/bin/moc-qt3 in moc-qt3.old e il file /usr/bin/moc-qt4 in moc-qt3
3. Quindi seguire il post precedente (seguite gli stessi punti utlizzati per la qt3, sostituendo a “valknut3” la cartella “valknut4”)
4. Creare nel menù applicazioni un link simbolico a: /home/nomeutente/valknut4/bin/valknut

Gustatevi il vostro Valknut 😉

Appunto importante: Una volta compilato è bene riportare i nomi file al loro stato originario

There are some unfortunate problems with 0.3.14 / 0.4.0. Sadly this list just keeps getting longer.

• “Add this extra source” in the filelist browser crashes valknut.
• There is an enormous memory leak in the filelist browser.
• QT4: Crashes on startup if “Check and recreate sharelist on startup” is enabled. The race condition was also in the QT3 version, but not causing problems since the DCTransferView constructor is much faster (due to differences in the classes generated from the .ui files).
• QT4: The hubs tab bar code has two different serious problems. It only works correctly if you only close the last hub, closing any other breaks things. Also, problems with the port to QMdiArea may lead to crashes when closing hubs or valknut.

0.3.15 / 0.4.1 will be released soon which will fix these issues, and also has these significant improvements/fixes:

• Valknut has full User Command support.
• DClib can return search results during filelist refresh, so that uploads via ADCGet+TTHF (i.e. all uploads) can start.
• DClib no longer ignores components of search queries shorter than 3 characters (unless all components of the search are that short).
